Because granite countertops are made from naturally made stone, granite, slabs can vary from lot to lot. And sometimes even slabs from the same lot can differ a little bit from each other. This can happen with quartz, but not quite as often as it happens with granite. So what is the best practice in order to get the patterns and colors you want in your kitchen? The best thing to do is to go to one of our distributors’ warehouses, and tag the slab the you like! Now this can be either a good thing, or a bad thing. The good thing is that you can see the actual slab of granite that is going to go in your kitchen. The bad thing is that there is hundreds of other slabs in the warehouse, so you might see something else that you might like…well that’s not entirely bad, is it? 😀
Now it doesn’t happen all the time that the granite that is put in your kitchen is always so different from the one you saw in a picture, or from a sample. It can differ a little bit, it can differ a lot. Sometimes you can’t even notice it. But rest assured that most likely it wasn’t your fabricator who had a mix-up.
Every stone slab has its own history…its own story to tell. Selecting the right one is a very personal choice. Seeing your stone with your own eyes and feeling it with your own hands also lets you appreciate the stone’s uniqueness. You’ll see that the stone slab you select is just like you—one of a kind! That’s just one part of what makes natural stone so appealing.
We know a project involving natural stone is a big investment. It’s worth taking the extra time to check everything out and confirm that all will be just the way you desire. Inspecting the exact slabs you’ll use lets you avoid big mistakes that can end up costing you a lot more than your time in the end. If you’d like to get up close and personal with some stone slabs before making your final selection, give us a call at Marble and Granite Express. We would be more than happy to show you what we have in stock, as well as direct you to one of our distributors’ warehouse.
